A Man Called Otto (2022)

Rating: 6/10
Runtime 126 minutes

Emerging from the pages of Fredrik Backman's internationally best-selling novel, Ove is the archetype of the grumpy old man next door, characterized by rigid principles and a quick temper. Wait a minute. This isn't the outstanding Swedish film, "A Man Called Ove."

Instead, this is the American remake starring Tom Hanks.

Though I thoroughly enjoy watching Tom Hanks embody a cantankerous old character, Hanks doesn't quite capture the shining brilliance of the original version.
