Inside Out 2 (2024)
In "Inside Out 2," Riley becomes a teenager.
All her emotions become a hot mess.
When Pixar made this movie, they consulted with a number of teens.
Teen movies need a certain amount of cringe to be legitimate, but too much cringe and no one will want to watch it.
It's a delicate balance, and one Pixar probably got about right.
As for the ending, I will be honest, I totally thought the movie was going in a different direction.
But I guess that is what being a teenager is all about - sometimes the hot mess leaves a lot of loose ends.
"Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry! I can get ahead of myself. I'm Anxiety, one of Riley's new emotions, and we are all super jazzed to be here. Where can I put my stuff?"

- You don't like movies with elements of cringe
- You prefer movies with a straight forward plot structure and easily predictable endings

Zootopia (2016):
If you enjoyed the smart, mature, and emotionally nuanced storytelling in "Inside Out 2," you might find "Zootopia" captivating. This Disney animation presents a vibrant allegory about prejudice and stereotype - with a comedy-buddy cop drama twist. Much like "Inside Out 2," it draws valid, observable realities from the human world into its anthropomorphic universe, offering a rich narrative that, while primarily geared towards children, also profoundly appeals to adult audiences. The movie features some teenager-like characters, each facing interpersonal conflicts and societal issues, which perfectly complements the fluctuating emotional scenarios portrayed in "Inside Out 2."
Big Hero 6 (2014):This movie takes you on a thrilling ride through a mash-up of San Francisco and Tokyo, known as San Fransokyo. "Big Hero 6" is a story of loss, revenge, and self-realization - topics commonly faced in adolescence. With Pixar's "Inside Out 2," you were pulled into Riley's teen years, while here you get to experience Hiro's teen journey, filled with passion for robotics, an amazing but heartbreaking bond with a healthcare robot, Baymax, and the emotional turmoil he faces. If you appreciated the blend of humor, adventure, and emotional depth in "Inside Out 2," "Big Hero 6" is a must-watch.
The Incredibles 2 (2018):"The Incredibles 2," like "Inside Out 2," uses animation to explore complex themes. It focuses on the Parr family, each member having their unique superpowers. Similar to Riley’s tumultuous emotional journey, Violet, the teenage daughter, also grapples with her powers and personal life in a very ‘teen-like’ manner. And just as "Inside Out 2" surprised you with an unexpected turn of events, "The Incredibles 2" also presents a few twists that take viewers by surprise.
